About Volunteer Heart Ambulance
For over 50 years, Volunteer Heart Ambulance has provided compassionate, life-saving care to our neighbors. As a volunteer-run EMS team, we are dedicated to responding quickly and supporting our community with professionalism and heart.
Responding to the NYC EMS call sign 95-Adam, Volunteer Heart Ambulance of Staten Island, (or “Volly Heart” as we are often called) proudly serves approximately a half-million people living in an area of 34 square miles.
We operate two ambulances and several response vehicles from a single station that serves and protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are 100% volunteers.

Our Journey of Service
1971
Founded by Local Volunteers
A group of dedicated residents established Volunteer Heart Ambulance to provide emergency cardiac care in the Staten Island community.
1980-2000
Expanded Response Team
We grew our volunteer team and added new ambulances to reach more people in need.
2000
Advanced Training Initiatives
Launched comprehensive training programs for volunteers, ensuring the highest standards of emergency care.
2002
Community Event Coverage
Began providing on-site EMS support for local events, strengthening our community presence.
2022
